Somatic Breathwork Journey Run by Dorsey and Christy

The chronic stress of daily life, unresolved trauma and unexpressed emotions can build up in your body over time and cause dysregulation of your nervous system. Somatic breathwork is a breathing technique that helps you connect your mind and emotions to your body to release this stress and regulate your nervous system. By focusing on conscious breathing patterns, somatic breathwork allows you to heal by clearing out the negative energy, barriers, defenses, and pains that hold you back from who you are and how you want to show up in the world.
This practice can help you with:
· Chronic stress and anxiety by calming your central nervous system, reducing anxiety and allowing you to feel more relaxed
· Processing and releasing pent-up emotions associated with unresolved trauma
· Identifying and releasing areas of tension in your body
· Reducing and working through negative thoughts or unexpressed feelings
· Identifying and repatterining the stories we have told ourselves about who we are supposed to be or how we are supposed to show up in this world
In this 1.5 hour session, you'll be guided by a certified breathwork practitioner through rhythmic breathing techniques to help release emotional and physical blockages. You'll be held in a safe space to explore and express whatever surfaces-allowing for deep healing from within. This class is suitable for beginners and those who have done somatic breathwork in the past. Please wear comfortable clothing. You are encouraged to bring your own yoga mat; however, one can also be provided.
Dorsey is dedicated to helping individuals reconnect with their true selves through breathwork. As an educator, she creates a safe and nurturing space where clients can release emotions and gain insight.
Christy, a seasoned mental health therapist, combines her knowledge of the mind-body connection with breathwork to help clients process trauma and emotions. She believes in the transformative power of breath to guide each person on their unique path toward healing and self-awareness.
